Garmin Pay Ireland: How to use any Irish Bank with your Garmin Watch

This article will show you how to set up Garmin Pay with any Irish bank, even if your bank does not directly support Garmin Pay.  Simply link your debit and credit cards to a Curve Wallet. This will generate a Mastercard debit card which will enable you to use any card with Garmin Pay in Ireland.

If you've ever tried to pay with your Garmin watch, you've likely been disappointed to find out that very few banks in Ireland actually support Garmin Pay.

Below is the complete list of banks that support Garmin Pay in Ireland. Curve: MASTERCARD

  • Genome: VISA
  • KBC: MASTERCARD
  • Prepaid Financial Services Ltd: MASTERCARD
  • Revolut: MASTERCARD
  • Revolut: VISA
  • Starling Bank Limited: MASTERCARD
  • Wirecard Card Solutions Limited: MASTERCARD
  • Wise: MASTERCARD
  • eCOMM Merchant Solutions: MASTERCARD

As you can see, no traditional banks like AIB, Ulster Bank, or Bank of Ireland appear on the list. If you've got Revolut, you can now add Revolut to Garmin Pay but you will have to make sure it's topped up with funds before going to pay. There is a smarter way. As you can see, the first card on the list is Curve. But Curve is not a bank. It's a wallet. Your whole wallet connected to a single card. Simply link your cards to a Curve Wallet before adding Curve to Garmin Pay. Curve enables millions of Garmin customers to use any card on the go. In fact, Curve makes Garmin Pay work even better than Google Pay or Apple Pay, providing additional financial benefits that help you save and earn as you spend.

Avoid fees abroad with Garmin Pay outside Ireland

Traditional banks in Ireland typically charge foreign transaction fees abroad, usually 2-3%. That's €20-€30 for every €1000 spent abroad. By adding your Irish bank cards to Curve, you can stop these fees without switching banks oir using a specialised credit card. Curve will kill the foreign transaction fees before they bite. While Revolut is much better for avoiding fees abroad than traditional banks – you will still be charged 0.5% on every transaction abroad on the weekends, even with a premium Revolut plan. You can eliminate these fees by linking your Revolut card to a Curve Wallet. Just pay with Curve and watch the fees abroad disappear.
